It was just a Tuesday. Then the postman delivered this letter:

Dear Neugebauers,

Every year I have seen your happy family through the photos that you send since 1980 something. That photo sends a special message to all of us in the child care field - family is important.

I opened Oakland Park Children's Center in 1974 and retired in 1995. Your Exchange magazine kept me sane at a time when I felt quite isolated. Each issue let me know that directors experienced universal issues and, more than that, these problems were discussed and possible solutions were offered.

Through the years I modified the many forms, evaluations, policies, and procedures. Thank you for making my job easier; thank you for increasing my skills; thank you for publishing the most relevant magazine in the field.

May God continue to bless you all.
