More than 50 years ago the great Martin Luther King, Jr. shared with the world his dream of an America characterised by freedom, equality, and unity. In spite of the difficulties and frustration of the moment, he proclaimed his dream �" and thereby changed the world.

A Dream for Zambia

We certainly have our difficulties and frustrations in Zambia, but let us also dream so that we, too, can change our world.

Not long ago, a group of Zambians were sharing their dreams of what a Zambia without AIDS would be like. From their sharing, one very compelling picture emerged. It was of a Zambia where ­children were healthy, happy, and laughing. Very simple. Just that. Let us achieve a Zambia where children are healthy, happy, and laughing. Then we will have conquered AIDS. We will have rolled back poverty. We will have established a society where every individual can live a life of dignity and fulfillment.
