The World Forum Opens
May 17, 2005

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." - Walt Disney

The World Forum Opens

Today nearly 800 early childhood professionals from 80 nations, from Iraq to Ireland, and from Slovakia to Sri Lanka are gathering in Montreal for the Opening Ceremonies of the Sixth World Forum on Early Care and Education. Excitement among delegates is high as World Forum International Organizing Committee member, Magela Guimareas from Montivideo, Uruguay reports:

"This is such an amazing gathering of people from so many cultures, speaking so many languages, with so many religious beliefs, and so many stories. From the minute people arrive they are caught in a whirlwind of meeting, greeting, sharing, and questioning. Old friendships are re-established and new friendships are about to be created."

For those of you who cannot be with us this week in Montreal, we will try to provide you will some tastes of the World Forum. Today, we invite you to take a look at some of the presentations. Go to the program section of the World Forum web site at http://www.worldforumfoundation.org/wf/program.php,  Take a look at the presentation summaries by clicking on the detailed agendas and then clicking on the names of presenters highlighted in red.
