Female Managers More Engaged
June 8, 2015
Life’s challenges will continue to test your strength. As a result your strength will grow and your skills will improve.
-Ralph Marston

The Gallup Business Journal reports that female managers tend to be more engaged than male managers:

"Gallup finds that 41% of female managers are engaged at work, compared with 35% of male managers. In fact, female managers of every working-age generation are more engaged than their male counterparts, regardless of whether they have children in their household. These findings have profound implications for the workplace. If female managers, on average, are more engaged than male managers, it stands to reason that they are likely to contribute more to their organization's current and future success."

Leading Minds:
An Anatomy of Leadership

"Full of insight and illuminating detail…Effective leaders put words to the formless longings and deeply felt needs of others. They create communities out of words. In Leading Minds, Gardner shows that he is just such a leader, able to articulate and clarify what many of us have been thinking on the subject for a long time."
- Warren Bennis, Harvard Business Review

What is meant by engagement? Micromanaging? One of the best characteristics of any manager is the ability to delegate - and then to let people function without interference. So, as with all good research, I need to know what is meant by engagement!

There is a hearsay in Bangladesh that female managers are more efficient than the male managers in financial management. Seems this is universal!
