Entering the Mainstream:
A Report on the Quality and Extent of Online Education in the U.S.

The Sloan Consortium has recently released the report, Entering
the Mainstream: The Quality and Extent of Online Education in the United States,
2003 and 2004. The report is the second annual study of the state of online
education in U.S. Higher Education from the Sloan Consortium -
a consortium of institutions and organizations committed to quality online education.
This study is aimed at answering key questions about the nature and extent of
online education in the U.S. The study addresses the following issues:
* Growth of Online Enrollments
* Student Satisfaction with Online Courses
* Online Learning as a Long Term Strategy
* Measuring the Quality of Online Learning
