Of its many forms and styles, leadership is perhaps the most compelling and effective when shaped by an individual who can use an array of approaches for attaining a vision - in this case, quality care for young children and families. Such inspiring leadership is a way of life for Marsha Poster, a driving force in securing changes for children and families throughout Pennsylvania and, in fact, the country. This has been expressed through her advocacy initiatives that have resulted in new legislation and policies, through her leadership in an array of professional associations, her numerous advisements and consultancies to significant projects in the field, through her workshops and other presentations on topics that empower others. The site from which these activities have emanated is the Carnegie Mellon University where Marsha has been the center director for 19 years. As her leadership initiatives have continued to expand over the years, so does the development of the child care center reflect Dr. Poster's unique leadership capacity to initiate and sustain continued growth.
