It takes a special kind of person to pour heart and soul, and all those hours and all that energy, into creating a quality child care program and then to send it off into the world with a blessing. Such a person is Joyce Ruppell, director of Buttonwoods School for Young Children in Warwick, Rhode Island.Buttonwoods is a licensed preschool for children three to five years of age. It was established in 1977 as a ministry of the Buttonwoods Bible Chapel, and Joyce was a part of its beginning. "Buttonwoods was my baby before I had a baby."
"We have tried to create a refuge here, a place where people are respected and treated with kindness. Children begin to understand God's love through their parents and through the care of their teachers. This is how we become the hands and face of God. It's an incredible responsibility."
