World Forum Connections: Malaysia and Nepal

In November, Inclusion Working Group leader Anne Subashini of Malaysia visited Nepal at the invitation of Bishnu Bhatta, of the Partnership for Sustainable Development (PSD) and the Nature Action Collaborative for Children (NACC) and Dr. Loren Weybright. Their ongoing collaboration dates back to their meeting at a NACC event. Anne Subashini gave a series of workshops on supporting children with special needs through play, parent partnerships, and an exploration of learning styles. In return, PSD shared their strategies for working with children. After visiting local programs, they topped off the visit with a gathering of World Forum colleagues Mukunda Kshetree, Kishor Shrestha (Working Group on Peace Building with Young Children), and former Global Leaders Dhirendra Lamsal and Deepak Sapkota. They were joined by Dr. Loren Weybright, who will participate in his first World Forum this year. As Bishnu Bhatta reported, “We had long discussions about how to work together in the field of early childhood. This sort of World Forum visit gives us such a boost to work in this field.”
