Earlier this year, the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) had a change in leadership. Our field welcomes Bill Hudson to this work. Let’s get to know the new CEO of NAFCC. 

MBST: Bill, tell us about you. Where did you grow up? 

BH: I’m from a small town in the southeastern corner of North Carolina. The entire county had only about 50,000 people at the time, so it was very rural and focused on farming. While my family didn’t farm, most of my peers and I worked in the fields from an early age. I started working in the tobacco fields when I was nine or ten. It was a great introduction to what hard work looks like, and it gives me a tremendous appreciation for the lives that farmers lead. 

MBST: What is your favorite thing about living in the DC-metro area, and being so close to the nation’s capital? 

BH: The diversity of the people. I love meeting people from all over the world and hearing their stories about how they came ...
