Who's the Target Audience?
The target audiences for this are beginning, intermediate, and advanced teachers working with children from birth to age 8. This kit introduces teachers to the hallmarks of compassion and helps them understand how to promote and sustain compassionate classrooms.

Kit Timeline:
Preparation time for this kit is estimated at 1.0 hour. Implementation and actual training time is 3.0 hours, which includes 1.5 of face-to-face training and 1.5 hours of independent study.


Training Outcomes:

  1. Learner will identify the four research-based components (i.e., readiness, recognize, rehearse, and respond) that are vital for fostering and sustaining a compassionate classroom.
  2. Learner will either observe or create each of the four research-based components (i.e., readiness, recognize, rehearse, and respond) and describe an example of these components.
  3. Learner will list at least 3 ways or strategies that they can use to foster and sustain compassion in the early childhood classroom.
