And Now for Something Completely Different
January 3, 2017
Because I had figured out how to get my seat at the table ... It was my responsibility to help others find theirs.
-Alissa Mwenelupembe, Stories of Resistance

I had the good fortune last week to see Sara Watkins perform a solo concert. A former child prodigy fiddler player, Watkins began performing with the bluegrass supergroup Nickel Creek when she was eight years old. Now 35, she has a voice like a waterfall: clear and vibrant.

I invite you to take a break from the 24-hour news cycle and enjoy her song "You and Me."

Best way to remind yourself why you do the work you do is to see talented young people pursuing their passions in their own way. If every time we looked at a young child we saw them as a competent contributing adult, it could change our perspective. Thanks so much for sharing!!
