Inspiration from Nature
May 17, 2018
Children see magic because they look for it.
-Christopher Moore

The popular book, Bringing the Outside In, by Sandra Duncan, Ed.D. and Jody Martin, is full of wonderful quotes about the power of nature to inspire and support children. Here are two favorites:

“If we pay attention, nature has the profound power to awaken the place of beauty within us. We have the capability to recognize the beauty and mystery of nature because that beauty and mystery are at the heart of our being. It is in all the life around us – it is us.”
– Laura Bethmann from Hand Printing from Nature

“Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider world, but themselves.”
– Stephen Moss

Love the quotes! What would we do if we didn't have all the beauty of nature, which with all a child's questions, it gives us so much to explain, along with seeing the pleasure in a child's face when they see, as an example, a beautiful flower or tree.
