Reflective Practitioners

"An integral part of the director's leadership role is helping teachers build opportunities for enrichment and personal achievement," advises Paula Jorde Bloom in her guide, A Great Place to Work. Bloom suggests asking these questions to help teachers become reflective practitioners:
- What is the most fulfilling part of your job?
- What talents, skills, special competencies, and unique contributions do you bring to the classroom?
- Do you have the opportunity every day to do what you do best?
- What keeps you from being as effective as you would like to be?
- What resources do you need to excel in your job?
- If you had the power to change anything about your job, what would you change?
- If you could target one area of knowledge and skill building that would help you feel more competent and capable, what would it be?
