Finding the Gifts in Challenges

Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection.
Brené Brown

In her inspiring new book, Happiness is Running Through the Streets to Find You: Translating Trauma’s Harsh Legacy into Healing, Holly Elissa Bruno writes about how we can all find gifts in the challenges we face in our lives. She explains that believing in ourselves and being able to ask for help are both important steps in that process:

“Asking the right people for help and accepting that help are miraculous for me, as is my choice of work. I support and challenge early childhood professionals, especially leaders, to hone and trust their genius…I support people who make a difference. Change the life of a child and you change the world.”

May Pipher, author of the best-selling Reviving Ophelia and Women Rowing North, writes this about Holly Elissa’s work:

“Bruno’s fine book describes the experience of recovering from trauma and transforming pain into love and joy. This deeply empathic book will inspire and guide others as they make the same journey.”
