Lighting Up

When a child walks into a room, your child or anyone else's child, do your eyes light up? That’s what they are looking for.

Dear Exchange Community,

I love the Toni Morrison quote above, and I am confident you believe it as much as I do. But, if you’re like me, there are some days when the cares of the world make our eyes go a bit dim. Here are a few ways I’ve found to get my sparkle back:

Walk in nature.
Write down five things I’m grateful for right now.
Call someone and tell them how much I appreciate them.
Read a passage from Holly Elissa Bruno’s book, Happiness is Running Through the Streets to Find You.
Do an anonymous good deed for someone.
Watch a television program or listen to a podcast that makes me laugh.

How do you light yourself back up? We encourage you to discover the small but important things that replenish your joy. Children are counting on us to light the way for them.
