All Work and No Play

This is the best — to laugh with someone because you both think the same things are funny.
Gloria Vanderbilt

Although recent research has shown that Europeans are starting to work longer hours, a recent Time magazine (October 30, 2006) report shows that Americans still work more and play less than their European counterparts. For example the average American works 46.2 weeks a year, allowing for little more than 4 weeks of vacation; whereas workers in Italy, Britain, France, and Germany work between 40.6 and 41.1 weeks a year and vacation for between 6.6 and 7.9 weeks per year.
