Brain Development in Progress

As an instructor of future Early Childhood Educators, I emphasize the need for exemplary standards of care. Early in the academic term, students nod along because I am their instructor; but, as students increase their knowledge of the brain, they see the influence that their work will have on the development of the young children with whom they will work.

The Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) advocates for high standards in the training of Early Childhood Educators worldwide. Here are only a few of the standards they suggest should be integrated into ECE curricula:
