New Zealand Most Peaceful

Personally, I’d be thrilled if some policy makers and advocates would quit pitting child care against early education (preschool). Good care is always educational. Good education is always caring. (I think that pretty well sums up 60 years of developmental research.)

For three years the Institute for Economics and Peace, a new global think tank dedicated to the research and education of the relationship between economic development, business, and peace has developed the Global Peace Index. The index is composed of 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from respected sources, which combine internal and external factors ranging from a nation’s level of military expenditure to its relations with neighboring countries and the level of respect for human rights.
