Think Like a Kid II

I believe finally, that education must be conceived as a continuing reconstruction of experience; that the process and the goal of education are one and the same thing.
John Dewey, philosopher and educational reformer, 1859-1952

Yesterday I cited researchers from North Dakota on the value of thinking like children.  Today I return to the same theme, but rely instead on the wisdom of lite-mystery writer Tim Dorsey, who in Nuclear Jellyfish had his character Serge observe:

"Children have it all over adults, possessing magical powers of imagination.  Then they grow up into cynical tall people.  That's the whole problem with the human race:  reverse metamorphosis.  We turn from butterflies into caterpillars.  The key to keeping your wings is regular exercise of your kindergarten muscles of make-believe."
