Camera Phone Fundraising

If you can’t change your fate, change your attitude.
Amy Tan, Author

Non profits can now use mobile technology to boost their fundraising efforts using an approach described in an article, "Waiting for Wealth," in The NonProfit Times (June 1, 2010). Here is how it works:

Step 1.  Secure a square-shaped barcode or quick response code.

Step 2.  Place this barcode on posters, letters, and signs promoting your non profit.

Step 3.  Potential donors take a photo of the barcode with their smart phone, and then link, using this barcode, directly to your web site's donation page.

The barcodes and the supporting software to make this happen are available (currently for free) at
www.mobile-barcodes.com.
