Motherhood 50 Years Ago

It is never too late to become what you might have been.
George Eliot

When an 83-year-old photographer, Ken Heyman, was asked to empty his boxes from a closing storage facility, he found a box titled "Mothers," filled with beautiful images of women and their children.  These were photos he shot over 50 years ago for a book called Family, which he co-wrote with anthropologist Margaret Mead.

Take a look at these photos, published by Huffington Post, and see if you think the art of motherhood has changed in half a century.
