Who Are Our Emerging Leaders?

Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.
Marian Wright Edelman

Members of the Baby Boom generation, who have played influential roles in shaping the early childhood profession, are starting to retire.  Many advocates wonder where the next generation of leaders in our field will be coming from.  To recognize and encourage the next generation of leaders, Exchange magazine is targeting our May/June 2015 issue to feature emerging leaders in the field of early care and education.  One selected leader will be featured on the Exchange cover and in the cover story.  Several other emerging leaders will also be pictured and their stories will be told in the cover feature.

Individuals can nominate themselves or can be nominated by others at: www.childcareexchange.com/emerging-leaders-application/

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of current highly-respected and experienced leaders including: Kay Albrecht, Holly Elissa Bruno, Barbara Bowman, Paula Jorde Bloom, Margie Carter, Judy Collins, Louise Derman-Sparks, Bettye Caldwell, David Elkind, Ellen Gannett, Alice Honig, Lilian Katz, Ron Lally, Yvette Sanchez Fuentes, Billie Young, and Yasmina Vinci.
