The Beginning of Life

You'll sing a song, and I'll sing a song, and we'll sing a song together!
Ella Jenkins, American Folk Singer

A great new film, The Beginning of Life, explores dramatically and beautifully the critical nature of early childhood.  We are especially eager to share this with you because one of the film's producers is Eduardo Queiroz from Fundação Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal. Eduardo and his foundation have been key supporters of the World Forum Foundation's Global Leaders for Latin America initiative.

The film, like so many recent documentaries, explores brain research pointing to the importance of the early years. And, it explores so much more: it has great interviews with parents around world (many of which are extremely touching); it deals with some key issues such as the challenges facing low-income families, the wide definition of families in today's society, the importance of connecting children with nature, and the importance of men in the lives of children.

The full length film is also available on Netflix and iTunes.
