The History of World Forum Foundation

Let me do it. You tell me when you want it and where you want it to land, and I’ll do it backwards and tell you when to take off.
Katherine Johnson, NASA mathematician, 1918-2020

Henry Ford once said, "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success." The genesis and ongoing growth of the World Forum Foundation is a testament to his thoughts. WFF was conceived in the late 1990s as a way to connect global early childhood professionals who were working with great determination and creativity, but little support or recognition, in order to improve the lives of young children around the world.

The first global conferences were held in Honolulu, Singapore and Athens in 1999, 2000 and 2001. In the ensuing years, these conferences evolved into a highly valued point of connection for the early childhood field. Early childhood professionals and advocates worldwide value World Forum events as stimulating and safe environments where people are free to share, to learn, and to develop lifelong professional alliances and relationships. To date, over 5,000 individuals from 95 countries have participated in a World Forum event.
