Katrina Relief Support
The impact of Hurricane Katrina is unfolding everyday and will have long term
effects on so many families and communities. Primrose Schools across the system
have immediately offered support, goods, and classroom spaces to meet the needs
of these families. As Jo stated in her most recent email, It has been
truly inspirational to experience the caring and sharing aspect of the Primrose
organization as it has come to life over the past week. We continue to
work toward providing on-going support to those in need.
The following are guidelines for Primrose Schools to address the many requests
and ideas for offering support. These range from short term registration and
tuition credits for evacuated children to a job bank strategy, use of the Primrose
bus, and a parent tip sheet.
Initial Funds
The Primrose Childrens Foundation sent the original $50,000 to kick off
support to the relief funds to the American Red Cross. We have suggested that
any and all cash donations be placed at a local level through local chapters
of the American Red Cross and/or the Salvation Army.
Matching Contributions
Primrose School Franchising Company is pleased to announce that it will match
cash donations from Primrose franchisees, their staff and the corporate team
up to $25,000!
The donations must go to local chapters of, or the national, American Red Cross.
We want to ensure the funds are going directly to where they will be put to
use and to reputable charities. In order to get credit for donations, towards
our match, please send us copies of your receipts of your donations. Send the
funds directly to the charitable organization. We need a copy of all receipts
in order to tally the gifts and to determine the match. We are excited to be
able to add to the initial support from the Primrose Childrens Foundation
these matching funds.
