Our 124th issue is dedicated to all the great early childhood professionals in Canada. The individuals featured on the cover and whose stories are told below have been selected by the Canadian Child Care Federation to represent all the many high quality early childhood initiatives taking place throughout the nation.The Canadian Child Care Federation serves over 8,000 members in child care centers and family child care settings. The Federation's governance structure has evolved through the years to become a strong grassroots based structure working on the broad range of child care related issues which impact children and their families. Through its affiliation with 12 provincial/territorial child care organizations, the Federation has become a recognized leader in the child care field as well as in the broader health and services sector.

Diane has been employed at The Children's Centre as an early childhood educator for eleven years, including the last nine as coordinator; but her association with the Centre actually began a few years earlier when she was looking for a preschool that would be right for her daughter.
