"Something always happened, every day, that made that day special. I remember one day when I was a teacher. I was down on the floor building with blocks and talking to the children. One little boy asked me in Keres, our language, 'Eddie, where do you work?' I said, 'Well, this is what I do. I play with you guys.' Isn't it great to think about how he saw me? I always enjoyed coming to work. Some jobs just choose you."Eddie shared this story from his days in the class-room, as the life of the center and preparations for going on a field trip swirled about him. It is obvious that Eddie still enjoys coming to work, that even though he now serves as director of the San Felipe Head Start Program, he still sees the wonderful, interesting, amusing things that happen every day in working with children. Involved in children's issues outside San Felipe, Eddie is current vice president and former president of the New Mexico/Colorado Indian Head Start Directors' Association.
