Yale University researchers, working in conjunction with the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, have recently released the latest Environmental Sustainability Index Report (www.yale.edu/esi). In this report 146 nations of the world are ranked in terms of 75 environmental measures such as maintaining clean air and water, limiting emission of greenhouse gases, and cooperating with international environmental efforts. Here are the top performing nations on this year’s list...

  1. Finland
  2. Norway
  3. Uruguay
  4. Sweden
  5. Iceland
  6. Canada
  7. Switzerland
  8. Guyana
  9. Argentina
  10. Austria
  11. Brazil
  12. Gabon
  13. Australia
  14. New Zealand
  15. Latvia


Note: On this list, the United States ranked 45th.
