Getting Organized

"ECE professionals are pack rats by nature.  We throw out nothing and believe that someday we will use everything we keep.  All too often we allow these materials to creep out of the shelves, closets, bookshelves, boxes, and cubbies making our rooms and offices look like the neighborhood yard sale.  To a parent’s eye, we look disorganized.

"Organization affects our marketing effort because parental opinions are formed by their first impressions of our programs and classrooms — and second chances are rarely given.  If you can’t find a tour packet, or are unprepared for their visit, they may think, 'If they can’t find paperwork, how are they going to keep track of my child?'  Your level of organization has a huge impact on prospective families."
