Hedge Funders vs. Kindergarten Teachers

"The top 25 hedge fund managers make more than all kindergarten teachers in the country," stated President Obama in a speech on poverty at Georgetown University on May 12. The Washington Post decided to fact check this and here is what they found:

"...An annual ranking of top hedge fund managers found that the 25 most successful pulled in $11.62 billion in 2014 [in what analysts point out was the worst year for them since the stock market meltdown in 2008.]

"[According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics] in 2012 the nation had about 158,000 kindergarten teachers.... The average salary was $53,480 [which works out to a total of $8.45 billion.]
