Promote Word-of-Mouth Marketing

The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.
Rachel Carson, 1907-1964, American marine biologist, conservationist, writer

In an article in the Exchange Art of Leadership series, Bruce Schon and Roger Neugebauer wrote about how important positive reviews from friends are when families choose early care and education programs:

"Given the prime importance of word-of-mouth, a director might do well to encourage and influence the flow of personal recommendations. The director should tell parents that their spreading the word is very beneficial to the program and is most appreciated...A one-page fact sheet listing the program's goals and strengths, services, and enrollment requirements might be distributed as a resource to those likely to spread the word."
