Touch and Go
November 23, 2009
Equal rights for the sexes will be achieved when mediocre women occupy high positions.
-Françoise Giroud

The following story of Tad Waddington appeared in Psychology Today (November 2009):

"Monkeys go nuts and die if they are not touched.  Touch is critical for survival and well being, so we carried 'our little monkey' everywhere and learned that humans have a latent ability to do anything one-handed.  Our son, now a teenager, continues to be what Californians call 'centered' and normal people call 'well adjusted.'"

Now you can add pizzazz to your staff training by subscribing to Videatives Streaming Service giving you access to over 160 video clips of real-life scenes in real classrooms.  By using Videatives Streaming Service, you can make general principles of child development and early education come to life — turn ordinary moments into rich learning experiences. Students and staff members will learn to "see what children know," not by studying text, but through observing and assessing real incidents in real early childhood settings.
