World Forum Call for Presentations
October 15, 2010
Sleep and rest go hand in hand with trust. Sleep requires letting go.
-Carol Garboden Murray, Illuminating Care

The World Forum Foundation has initiated the planning for presentations at the 2011 World Forum on Early Care and Education in Hawaii.  As has always been the case, past and current participants build the program.  Typically over 500 people participate in the planning — deciding what topics will be discussed and deciding who will present.

If you have suggestions for topics to be covered, if you have a topic that you would like to present, or if you want to suggest someone else as a presenter, please share your ideas on the 2011 Presentation Proposal survey. Keep in mind these guidelines for World Forum presentations:

  • Sessions are 1.5 hours — one hour for introductions and 2-4 presentations and 30 minutes for whole group discussion.
  • Strong preference is given to proposals that provide a diversity of perspectives.
  • Presenters are strongly encouraged to share stories and ideas in a warm and personal way.  The reading of papers is discouraged.
  • PowerPoint presentations are to be used for photographs and bullet points only.
  • Each team of presenters is encouraged to communicate and create something new and unique together.

A key factor in the success of the World Forum is the diversity of attendees.  To assure that attendance is diverse in many ways, the World Forum Foundation has established a World Forum Fellowship Fund.

This fund is used to facilitate the attendance of early childhood leaders from economically challenged communities around the world who will contribute to the World Forum experience through their expertise or the uniqueness of their perspectives. Since the World Forum was launched in 1999, over 100 individuals and organizations have stepped forward to be World Forum Sponsors.

Learn how you can become a sponsor in the Sponsorship section on the World Forum Foundation web site.

I am recommending Gigi Schweiker ([email protected]) as a note speaker or as a presenter.
Gigi attracts a lot of people (we will bring people) she is a great speaker, a motivator with humor and has knowledge in all areas concerning children.
She is an Author/Speaker with much experience and great family person.
She will be an asset for the 2011 World Forum on Early Care and Education.
Sincerely yours,
Bianca Labye
