Children Design Playground
June 9, 2011
Most of us don't listen with the intent to understand. We listen with the intent to reply.
-Stephen Covey, 1932-2012, author and speaker
The New York Daily News (May 20, 2011) reported that students at a public school in Brooklyn "are in love with their new playground — because they designed it themselves."

"The city transformed a parking lot at the school last month using a blueprint created by kids.  Until then, the school didn't have a playground....  Forty students from PS 181 collaborated with designers from the non-profit Trust for Public Land on a plan for the one-acre space.  They met at lunch and after class during the second half of the last school year to discuss what they wanted in their new playground."
