It is often assumed that young children do not interact socially until they have started to acquire formal languages, that in their early years they pretty much operate in their own individual worlds.  As early childhood educators, we know this isn't true.  Here is an example of some pretty extraordinary toddler communication between twins.  A great video for staff or parent meetings: Talking Twin Babies
