David Gleason Fellowship Fund
October 28, 2016
The seed of our best practices grows from an understanding of the significance of attachment at the beginning of life.
-Carol Garboden Murray, Illuminating Care

David Gleason played a significant role in the growth of the World Forum Foundation (WFF). He was the first major donor and the first president of WFF. To honor his legacy, we have created the "David Gleason Fellowship Fund."

Since David was so dedicated to his work with the children of homeless families as the leader of Bright Horizons’ Bright Spaces project, we are dedicating this fund to promoting awareness of the impact of homelessness on children worldwide. Our initial goal is to raise $20,000 to bring to the 2017 World Forum in New Zealand four to six early childhood leaders from around the world who work with refugee and other homeless populations. In New Zealand, they will have the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns with early childhood professionals from 75 other nations. If we are successful in this effort—and the early response has been amazing—we will repeat it for future World Forum gatherings.

We are inviting anyone, especially those who had the good fortune to work with David, to make a donation to this fund on the World Forum website. Bright Horizons will provide a 100% match for donations received by November 30, 2016. Donors will be acknowledged on the World Forum Foundation website and in the program of the 2017 World Forum, and will receive periodic updates on the project.

The World Forum Foundation, launched by Exchange in 1998, has brought together thousands of early childhood professionals from over 100 nations to support each other in creating a better world for children. This work has been accomplished thanks to countless donations ranging from $25 to $100,000. We can't thank enough all of you, individuals and organizations, who have supported the World Forum with these donations.

Now we are appealing for your continuing support as we approach "GivingTuesday." This event has been organized by nonprofits around the world to focus attention on supporting the important work they are accomplishing. On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, people around the world will be invited to share their support online for the causes that matter to them.

The World Forum Foundation's website offers a variety of ways you can support its work. Please take a few minutes that day (or maybe even today) to make a tax exempt online donation to the World Forum Foundation.
