Journeys in Leadership: A Smorgasbord of Leaders' Favorite Books

In the middle of December, as I was planning for what this March column should be about, my thoughts kept wandering to all the books I had read during the past year. A private New Year’s Day tradition I have had since college is reflecting on my most enjoyable reads from the past twelve months. Ah ha, I thought. Maybe it is time to broaden my tradition and ask others about their reading preferences; that might make an interesting column. I went first to our great group of Exchange Leadership Initiative members and invited them to tell me about the best leadership book they read in 2018 (and, as a bonus, the best personal read they enjoyed). I also talked to our Exchange staff and my colleagues across all of Dimensions Foundation. There were so many ideas I could not fit them all in, but here is a sampling of favorite books from 2018.
