The summer 2008 issue of Yes! Magazine included some interesting numbers in a section called "The Page That Counts" as well as elsewhere in that issue. Here are some of them...
  • Percentage of plastic bags that end up in the trash: 99
  • Percent reduction of plastic bag use in Ireland after the government started taxing bags: 95
  • Number of days workers' paid vacation or other leave mandated by the U.S. government: 0
  • Number of other developed countries that have no paid leave requirement: 0
  • Number of dollars U.S. government spends annually on renewable energy research: 1.5 billion

I totally agree with Char from Sonora. The way that your political views spill out has cause me to make the decision to not subscribe to Exchange magazine. You have not understood that you alienate people that view things differently than you. Some of your information is very helpful and I pass it on to my staff but I always open your emails with the thought I wonder if it will be political today. I delete immediately.

I think you should stay out of poliltics. I think you should be giving us information about children. There is often a bias either blantantly in your words or it is implied. Give us child develop information and teaching ideas and research.
